*JONATHAN TYLER & The NORTHERN LIGHTS*

Jonathan Tyler is an American born rock and soul singer, musician, and songwriter who began performing at thirteen. His debut album, Hot Trotting (Jonathan Tyler Music/India), is currently enjoying spin time on Austin’s KLBJ radio. The CD's single, GYPSY Woman, is quickly becoming a request line anthem. HOT TROTTIN is produced by Jonathan Tyler. Chris Bell mixed the album and the mastering was done by Sterling Sound.
Jonathan Tyler and The Northern Lights is composed of JT on lead vocals and lead guitar, Nick to the Jay on bass and additional vocals, Jordan Cain, on drums, Kansas on rhythm guitar and Mo Brown on additional vocals and tambourine. The band has opened for Chicago, Kool and the Gang, and Leon Russell.
With their Jay Joyce produced (Cage the Elephant, Derek Trucks, Patty Griffin) record due out on F-Stop/Atlantic on March 16, 2010, Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights are blowin up. In 2009 alone, they have toured with OAR, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynryd, JJ Grey & Mofro, AC/DC, and Cross Canadian Ragweed. The past two years, they’ve won Best Blues Band at the Dallas Observer Music Awards and in 2009 captured Best Group and Jonathan landed Best Male Vocalist. They have the song-writing chops of early Black Crowes and their live show is a rock show: loud, great guitar playing and some extended jams. Jonathan is hugely influenced by Lenny Kravitz, the Black Crowes BRMC, Spiritualized, The Verve, Doves, et al, and his songwriting shows it. His music, however, is more soul-driven modern rock.
